What is Forensic Psychology?

Forensic Psychology is the application of psychological principles to legal or forensic situations. These can include criminal or civil legal matters, including evaluation for disability, Worker's Compensation, or qualification for services such as rehabilitation or social services.

Criminal Forensic Evaluations include Competency to Stand Trial, Insanity (Criminal Responsibility), Alternatives to Revocation, and Pre-Sentencing Investigations.

Civil Forensic Evaluations include Guardianship, Worker's Compensation, Personal Injury, Disability, and Fitness for Duty.

Evaluations can be requested by the Court, attorneys, community agencies, Worker's Compensation Case Managers, and Social Security Disability Administration.
