NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

These assessments are done to make or clarify diagnoses and give recommendations for management of medical and mental health conditions. Testing includes measures of cognition and emotional/personality/behavioral functioning. Cognitive testing documents skills in memory, attention and processing speed, language, visuospatial, problem-solving, and executive functions.  Mood, personality, and behavioral functioning is assessed with psychological tests, interview and behavioral observations.

Referrals are made by agencies such as Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and county social services, mental health and medical hospitals,  as well as psychiatrists, physicians, attorneys and psychologists.

Assessments are done to document Traumatic Brain Injury, stroke,  and other neurological illnesses, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and dementia. Child assessments also help to diagnose and document developmental disorders such as lead poisoning, intellectual disability, prematurity, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and genetic disorders.

Our testing approach is flexible and tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual adult or child and their situation.
